Mohit Suri‘s Saiyaara smashed box office records this weekend with a stunning debut. Starring newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, the film impressed audiences with its emotional story, chart-topping music, and sleek direction, earning ₹20.07 crore net on its first day, a record for debutant-led films. But its momentum only grew from there.

Day 2 brought even stronger footfalls, with ₹25.17 crore added to the tally. The real twist came on Day 3—Sunday—when Saiyaara witnessed a massive surge and raked in ₹37.83 crore, taking its total India net collection to ₹83.07 crore within just three days. The film’s worldwide gross crossed ₹133 crore in this short span, proving its massive appeal not just in India but also overseas.
More than 50,000 online tickets were booked within just the first hour of opening, a feat only matched by mega blockbusters like Pathaan and Animal in recent years. The film recovered its entire production cost, around ₹60 crore, within the first two days itself. According to trade buzz, it’s expected to surpass ₹125 crore in net revenue in India and ₹200 crore in worldwide gross by the end of its first week.
Saiyaara’s uncommon mix of musical nostalgia, storyline twists, and pure emotional storytelling made it successful. The songs were instantly memorable, but the second half’s unexpected emotional depth won over the crowd. Ahaan and Aneet’s chemistry has won over critics and audiences, and Mohit Suri’s direction has made the picture an experience rather than a love narrative. Saiyaara has transformed musical romance films with its gorgeous images, relevant subject of guilt and sacrifice, and thrilling ending.
This surprise hit has put a lot of pressure on the next love story, Aashiqui 3. Because of how well Saiyaara did, people are much more excited about Aashiqui 3. The Aashiqui trilogy is famous for changing the way musical romance is shown in Indian movies with the 1990 and 2013 hits. Aashiqui 3 is the third movie in the series. The new movie, which stars Kartik Aaryan and is directed by Anurag Basu, has been in the works for more than a year but still doesn’t have an official trailer or release date. There were rumors that Shraddha Kapoor would be in the movie, but she isn’t. The producers are said to be rewriting the script. Saiyaara has already taken over the emotional musical romance area, and fans and insiders are questioning if Aashiqui 3 will seem old by the time it comes out.
