After a very long wait, the makers have finally released the trailer of Dhurandhar. Four months ago, when the teaser came out, the audience immediately called it an Animal copy and rejected it, saying it was the same old India-Pakistan conflict theme. But once the trailer arrived, all those complaints disappeared, and new aspects came forward.

Dhurandhar Trailer Review – First Impact & Overall Tone

The trailer opens with a 53-second scene that instantly gives you goosebumps. It starts with Arjun Rampal torturing a hostage — a level of torture you may have never seen or even imagined. After that, every character gets an introduction, each with a strong identity, mostly on a negative side.

Arjun Rampal, called the “Angel of Death,” creates tremendous hype from the very first scene. Then comes R. Madhavan, described as the “Charioteer of Karma,” who seems to be the mastermind in the story. His appearance and role resemble India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and the way he delivers his dialogues in the trailer is so brutal that it almost feels like he is threatening Pakistan directly. Akshaye Khanna, with his performance and screen presence, completely steals the hype. He is labeled the “Apex Predator” and plays the role of Rehman Dacait. Then there is Sanjay Dutt, who portrays police officer SP Chaudhary Aslam. With such a powerful star cast, the introductions, the cinematography, and the brutal action are so intense that the 4-minute 8-second trailer passes before you even realize it.

Story Elements and Real-Event Influence

The characters and storyline shown in Dhurandhar are based on true events. The film comes from the same filmmaker who made URI: The Surgical Strike six years ago — Aditya Dhar. At a time when most directors and producers are spending crores on AI-VFX, Aditya Dhar has focused on realistic cinema. The no-glamour look, the action, the characters — everything feels raw and real.

This film is based on the same old topic of the India-Pakistan conflict, which the audience usually doesn’t want to see repeatedly. But this time, Aditya Dhar has taken the same topic and presented it in a completely different way. The story isn’t against Pakistan itself, but rather about the animals hiding inside Pakistan — and dragging them out into the open.

The film will obviously be A-rated, because the amount of violence and gore shown even in the trailer makes it feel less like a movie and more like a tutorial on different ways of killing. Akshaye Khanna is shown breaking things as if he’s smashing coconuts. Such brutal cinema has never been seen before. It will definitely erase Animal from the audience’s memory, because in that movie there was only one “animal,” but here every single visible character seems to be in animal mode. Despite showing so much in these 4 minutes and 8 seconds, the trailer gives almost no hint of the story. It’s impossible to tell who is on the side of truth and who is faking it.

It is said that Dhurandhar will be released in two parts. The first part will end on a doubt — whether Ranveer Singh is actually the hero or the villain. And then the second part will arrive six months later, in May 2026, and will reveal something no one even expected. The trailer shows extremely brutal visuals without a single cut or blur. The audience now wants the film to play exactly like this in theatres too. The moment the trailer dropped, a flood of comments appeared on social media. One user wrote:

“Akshaye Khanna’s menacing facial expressions, Arjun Rampal’s merciless attitude, Maddy’s versatility, Sanju Baba’s terrific approach, and Ranveer Singh’s never-seen-before avatar are truly mesmerizing. This will be the grand comeback of all actors and will easily beat Animal by 1000 crores above…”

Overall, the Dhurandhar trailer leaves the audience with more questions than answers, and that mystery works in its favor. The star cast, the scale, and Aditya Dhar’s realistic approach give the film a strong edge over recent spy thrillers. Even with debates and criticism, the trailer manages to create solid curiosity. If the film delivers the same intensity and clarity in storytelling, Dhurandhar could turn 5 December into one of the year’s biggest theatrical events.
