Aditya Dhar has directed only two films so far — Uri: The Surgical Strike and Dhurandhar. Both are inspired by real incidents, and now the audience has found a connection between the two that could mark the beginning of Aditya Dhar’s cinematic universe.
According to official figures, Dhurandhar’s box office collection is as follows:
Day 1: ₹28 crore
Day 2: ₹32 crore
Day 3: ₹43 crore
India Net: ₹103 crore
India Gross: ₹123.5 crore
Overseas: ₹34.5 crore
Worldwide: ₹158 crore
The figures clearly show that the film entered the ₹100 crore+ club in its first weekend — and secured its place among the biggest earners of 2025.
2-Day Comparison With Other Big Films
Saiyaara – ₹47.5 crore (2 days)
Dhurandhar – ₹60 crore (2 days)
Kantara Chapter 1 (Hindi) – ₹12.5 crore (Day 2)
Dhurandhar – ₹32 crore (Day 2)
Clearly, Dhurandhar swept the board.
Ranking Among Major 2025 Openers
War 2 – ₹189.25 crore (4-day weekend)
Chhawa – ₹121.43 crore (first weekend)
Dhurandhar – ₹103 crore (3 days) → Third position
Below this, Salman’s Sikandar, Aamir’s Sitaare Zameen Par, Ajay Devgan’s Raid 2 and Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 5 all remained.
No film crossed ₹100 crore net in its first weekend.
Uri’s character Vihaan, played by Vicky Kaushal, meets Air Force pilot Seerat Kaur (Kriti Kulhari).
In one scene, Seerat reveals that her husband, an officer in the Punjab Regiment, was martyred in the Naushera attack.
His name was Jaskirat Singh Rangi. This is precisely the name of Ranveer’s real identity in Dhurandhar. This reference has caused a stir on the internet.
Fans are saying that this cannot be a coincidence. Aditya Dhar may be building his own spy universe.
If Uri’s Jaskirat becomes a martyr, then Ranveer’s character in Dhurandhar 2 may also go in this direction. So far, Team Dhurandhar has not made any official statement, but Uri’s viral scene and Dhurandhar’s character naming — both together make the universe theory quite strong.
