Param Sundari’s trailer blends vibrant romance, humour, and North–South cultural charm, instantly reminding viewers of Chennai Express — but with a fresh twist.

The trailer of Param Sundari dropped, and honestly, the first vibe it gives is like watching SRK’s Chennai Express all over again. Just like SRK was a North Indian guy in love with a South Indian girl, here we have Siddharth Malhotra as Param, a Punjabi boy, and Janhvi Kapoor as Sundari, a Malayali girl. Their love story unfolds with that same North-meets-South charm, and even some sequences feel straight out of Chennai Express, Siddharth running ahead while a group chases him, exactly like SRK’s scenes in the film.
Still, Maddock Films has managed to make it their own by pairing Siddharth and Janhvi together for the first time. And Janhvi Kapoor, she’s looking absolutely gorgeous here, probably her most refreshing on-screen look yet. The role of Sundari seems tailor-made for her, and her natural Malayali accent doesn’t feel forced at all. Siddharth, on the other hand, brings a calm yet charming presence, and together their chemistry feels easy and fun.

The trailer also has a beautiful touch of nostalgia with Sonu Nigam’s classic-style track “Pardesiya Hai Tere Pyaar Mein”, which was already teased earlier with the Bhool Chuk Maaf release. Visually, the film is rich, colourful, and playful, with bright backdrops, lively costumes, and an overall refreshing vibe. One standout moment is Janhvi’s witty dialogue towards the end, where she name-drops Rajinikanth, Allu Arjun, Yash, and Mohanlal in a single breath. It’s unexpected, funny, and instantly memorable.
Maddock’s track record adds to the excitement. Known for delivering on time and within the proper budget, they’ve given hits like Bhool Chuk Maaf, Sky Force, Chhawa, and more. If their past work is anything to go by, Param Sundari could easily turn into one of 2025’s most loved romantic comedies.

Overall, the trailer promises a simple, straight love story free from unnecessary violence or over-the-top drama, focusing instead on genuine romance and lighthearted moments. It’s the kind of film that feels good to watch, and judging by the fresh pairing, vibrant visuals, and catchy music, audiences are likely to give it a try when it hits cinemas on 29 August 2025.
