Saiyaara’s Surprise Success – Youth Romance Strikes Gold Again!
After years of repetitive action and remakes, Saiyaara has brought back what Bollywood needed most—a fresh, emotional love story that actually connects with audiences. Featuring newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda and directed by Mohit Suri, the film opened with strong expectations—but what followed surprised everyone.

On Day 1, Saiyaara raked in a powerful ₹24.60 Cr, thanks to a strong multiplex turnout, catchy music, and high curiosity. The momentum didn’t drop. In fact, the Day 2 growth touched ₹23.40 Cr, and Day 3 (Sunday) pulled in another impressive ₹24.25 Cr—taking the domestic total to ₹72.25 Cr (net) in just three days.
It’s not just the numbers. Cities like Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Bangalore, and even Tier-2 towns saw packed shows. The film’s emotion-heavy story, relatable Gen-Z romance, and hit soundtrack turned it into a true crowd-puller—something we haven’t seen in Hindi love stories since Aashiqui 2.
Ajay Devgn’s Son of Sardaar 2 Delayed – Coincidence or Smart Move?
Just days before its scheduled release, Ajay Devgn’s big-budget sequel Son of Sardaar 2 was officially pushed back by one week. The reason cited was “release calendar” adjustment—but let’s be honest, Saiyaara’s unexpected dominance at the box office definitely changed the game.

Releasing Son of Sardaar 2 during Saiyaara’s peak hype would’ve been risky, especially when audiences—particularly young viewers and families—are already locked onto one film. Competing head-on with a film that’s both trending and earning nearly ₹25 Cr a day isn’t wise, even for a star like Ajay Devgn.
So, was it fear? Not exactly. It was a smart calculation. Devgn has seen enough in the business to know that timing is everything, and letting Saiyaara breathe for a week might help Son of Sardaar 2 get cleaner screens and attention once the storm settles.
This isn’t the first time a film changed dates due to heavy competition.
Take the case of Nikita Roy, starring Sonakshi Sinha and Paresh Rawal. The film was initially scheduled to release on 27 June, the same day as Kajol’s horror drama Maa. Realizing the clash wouldn’t be ideal, the makers postponed Nikita Roy to 18 July, hoping for a better solo run.
But even the shift didn’t help. While Maa opened with a strong ₹4.5 Cr on Day 1, Nikita Roy only managed around ₹22 lakhs (estimated). Despite getting decent reviews, the film suffered due to lack of buzz—and also because Saiyaara had completely taken over by then. Sometimes, delaying a film isn’t enough—the market mood matters. Currently, Saiyaara is dominating the market.
